夏令營活動須知
Q1:營隊費用包含周三校外教學的費用嗎? 保險呢?
A:是的。學費包含午餐、所有課程的教材及教具、每周三的校外教學、行政管理費用及參與營隊期間所投保的個人平安保險。(投保最高保額意外險100萬+意外醫療險10萬)
Q2:營隊費用包含接機服務嗎?
A:本營隊提供團體接機服務。
若個人抵達時間與團體抵達時間相近,可一併安排免費接機。
Q3:是否提供個人接送機服務?
A:本營隊可代為安排個人接送機服務。惟此項服務需自費。
Q4:怎麼分班? 適合我孩子的中文程度嗎?
A:營隊開始的第一天將舉行分班測驗(7/3)及家長座談,學生將依其中文程度及年齡分班。開課之後的每周一將針對新加入的學生個別舉行中文程度測驗,以參加適合的班別
報名事宜
Q1:我們回台灣的時間趕不及第一周的課,可以從第二或第三周才開始上課嗎?
A:本營隊接受不同周別加入的學員,但為達到學員最佳學習效益及團體互動的教學品質,參加周別最少以兩周為限,最多為四周全營隊。
Q2: 我們若報名,但臨時改變行程而無法完成全程課程,學費可以退嗎?
A:繳費後至開學日前一周退還學費五成,參與上課開始後恕不予退費。 請注意:所有退費事宜將於九月中統一辦理。
Q3:報名手續需要哪些資料?
A:報名有兩種方式:

Q7:報名完成後會有什麼通知嗎?
A:我們將在收到所有報名資料後,立刻用e-mail確認通知,並於2023年五月底前收到行前通知及相關資料。
食
Q1:三餐用餐方式如何處理?可否有特殊餐食(如素食、不吃牛、豬、不吃海鮮等…)?
A:本中心有自己的餐廳,可提供中式合菜、中式便當、或西式快餐作為小朋友的午餐。餐食 選擇以健康、清潔、符合小朋友口味為原則,另依特別需求提供特殊餐食,請在報名時加註在報名表中。
Q2:飲用水如何取用?
A:上課地點皆有飲水機,可攜帶水壺使用。
Q3:小朋友在家用餐時非常挑食,怕在外面會吃不習慣、吃不飽?
A:每餐飲食的量,會因當日的活動量做調整,足量、營養、美味是提供餐食的原則。並推動小朋友平常不吃零食,以培養良好的用餐習慣。 對於挑食的小朋友會以遊戲的方式,鼓勵他食用完每餐提供的餐食。您也可選擇自行準備午餐的方式,但費用並不因此而有所減免。
衣
Q:台灣夏天溫度如何?只需要帶夏天的衣服嗎?
A:台灣夏天六、七月均溫為32度左右,除了攜帶夏天衣物外,可加帶1~2件長袖薄外套或長袖襯衫,在室內冷氣太強的地方或室外太陽太大時可防寒及防曬,並提醒隨身攜帶雨具。
住
Q1:請問提供住宿嗎?
A:劍潭海外青年活動中心提供完善的住宿服務。詳細設施及環境請參照劍潭海外青年活動中心的網頁 http://chientan.cyh.org.tw/room.php。
Q2:預定住宿那一間飯店?幾人一間房間?
A:劍潭海外青年活動中心以環境安全、交通便利、住宿舒適為主要考慮因素。住宿以男女分房為原則,房內提供中央空調設施、電話、電視、寫字桌等基本設施。
Q3:夜間小朋友如有緊急問題要如何求援?
A:輔導員皆會全程陪宿,如小朋友有任何問題皆可迅速處理。每天皆有早晚點名,並定時巡視寢室,以確實掌握小朋友之住宿情況。
Q4:小朋友的衣物如何清洗?需要準備多少套衣物替換?
A:個人之衣物、外衣、外褲、內褲及襪子,輔導員會帶領小朋友並教導使用洗衣機及烘乾機清洗乾淨。建議攜帶4~5套衣物替換。
Q5:寢室被單、枕頭套、環境是否有定時整理?
A:寢具每日更換,定時有整房人員整理寢室環境,輔導員會教導小朋友保持自己居住的環境,養成良好的生活習慣。
Q6:住宿時間從那一天算起,那一天結束?
A:住宿從開課當天開始,於活動結束前一天為最後一日住宿日。

Q2:戶外教學日之交通如何安排?是否需另外自付?
A:戶外教學日以遊覽車及其他大眾交通工具搭配運用,不需另行付費。輔導員並會全程陪同,以維護小朋友安全。遊覽車使用本公司定期簽約之合法遊覽 車公司,所有車輛均為公司車,並依據法令投保乘客險及配備標準之安全設備。更進一步要求車公司提供車齡五年內之車輛使用,車型之安排視報名人數做調整。
Q & A (Taiwan Summer Camp Programs)
Q1: Does the tuition fee cover meals, field trip or insurance?
A: Yes, lunches, textbooks, tutors, field trip on Wednesday, administration fees, and the traveler insurance for the entire duration of the summer camp (maximum accident insurance coverage of one million NT dollars.)
Q2: Does the tuition fee cover airport pick-up service?
A: For those who fly and arrive as FOCYC group, the cost of airport pick-up is covered. Individual arrives at the same time as the group can be picked up without extra charge.
Q3: Is airport pick-up service provided for individual arrivals?
A: We could arrange airport pick-up with a charge.
Q5: How do you place students in classes? Will it be appropriate for my children's Chinese proficiency level?
A: The placement test, student orientation, and parent conference are held on the first day of each session (7/3). Students are placed into a suitable class based on their Chinese proficiency levels and ages. We'll have placement test for those new arrivals every Monday in the following weeks.
Registration
Q1: We can not make the first week of the Summer Camp, is it possible to join later?
A: Yes, we do accept a later starting date on following weeks. However, you need to meet the minimum two consecutive weeks requirement.
Q2: If our schedule changes and we are unable to attend the whole duration of the camp after having completed the registration, is tuition refundable?
A: A 50% refund of tuition is available prior to the first week of the summer camp. No refunds will be given after the camp program start. Attention: All refund requests will be processed mid September.

Q6: When will I be contacted about my application?
A: We will email confirmation once we received your registration package. If all required material included, you will receive the Confirmation of the Registration Completion. In May 2023, we will send you the Camp Package and related information.
Dining
Q1: How meals are served at the camp? Do you offer special meal catering for specific dietary needs of students (such as vegetarian, do not eat beef, pork or seafood…etc.)?
A: The restaurant of Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center serves Chinese style lunch boxes, Taiwanese style local food, or Western light meal. The meals are chosen with concerns for nutrition, cleanness, and children's preferences. For those on special diet, please mark your needs in your application.
Q2: Is drinking water provided?
A: There are water dispensers at school. Students may bring a water bottle for drinking.
Q3: My child is very picky about food at home. I am afraid s/he may not be used to the meals served by the camp and not eat.
A: The quantity of each meal will be adjusted based on each day's physical activity level. Each meal must be sufficient, nutritious, and tasty. Also, we try to promote good dietary habits and teach children not to eat junk food. For students who are picky eaters, we encourage him/her to finish up the meals we serve. You can also choose to prepare lunch for your child, but there will be no fee deduction provided.
Clothing
Q1: How's the weather like? Do we only need to bring summer clothing?
A: The average summer temperature for June and July in Taiwan is around 32 degree Celsius. In addition to packing summer clothing, we suggest you to bring one or two light jackets or shirts (long sleeves). This is for air-conditioned indoors, and protect him/her from the sunburns. Also, you might want to remind your child to bring an umbrella with him/her.
Accommodations
Q1: Do you provide accommodations?
A: Accommodations provided at Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center. Please check http://geden.myhotel.com.tw for detail.
Q2: What are the options for accommodation? How many people stay in one room?
A: Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center been chosen with concerns for safety, convenient transportation, and convenience. Each student has their own bed, and separate rooms for boys and girls. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with basic amenities, such as telephones, televisions, and desks. Please check http://geden.myhotel.com.tw for detail.
Q3: If my children have an emergency problem during the night, who can they ask for help?
A: Counselors spend the night with boarding children. If children encounter problems, they will be on hand to take action immediately. They take attendance in the morning and at bedtime, and make rounds regularly to check on the children.
Q4: Is there a laundry service provided? How many sets of clothes should I pack for my child?
A: Washer/dryer and detergent available, counselors will instruct children to do their laundry. We suggest you pack four to five sets of clothes.
Q5: Are bed sheets and pillow cases changed regularly and are the rooms cleaned regularly?
A: The bedding is changed once per session. Cleaning staff clean the rooms regularly. Counselors hold a cleanliness competition to teach children to keep their rooms clean and learn good living habits.
Q6: When is the first day of boarding and when is the last day?
A: Check-in for accommodation is the first day at camp (7/3), and check-out is on the last day of the camp (7/28).
Transportation
Q1: How to reach Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center?

MRT: Take Dansui Line(Red) and get off at JianTan Station. Take the Exit 2, and walk for 7 minutes.

Q2: How is the transportation for the field trip days arranged? Do we need to pay fares for transportation?
A: We hire buses and use public transportation for field trips. The expenses and fares are covered by the tuition. Counselors accompany children on all the trips to watch over them. The buses are hired from a registered bus company which is contracted by MTC as a regular service. All buses are owned by the company and equipped according to standard safety regulations. Passenger insurance is legally required. Moreover, request that buses cannot have been used for more than five years. The bus models will be adjusted based on the number of participants.
